In 1967 Dick Erath was one of the first to recognize the grape growing potential of Oregon’s Willamette Valley. By 1969 he planted 23
different varietals on a four-acre plot of land to see which grapes
would flourish. Pinot Noir was the answer.
Since then, Erath Winery has played a major role in creating Oregon’s
wine industry and solidifying its reputation as a world class wine
region.
Erath produces three designations of Pinot Noir and has built a strong
reputation for doing so. As the winery enters its fourth decade of
winemaking, Erath perseveres to craft exceptional wines that reflect the
rich history of the brand and the prestige of the region. Erath is the original winery of the Dundee Hills.
